More about Ilya Kaminsky
Poet Ilya Kaminsky was born in Odessa in the former Soviet Union. His book Dancing in Odessa (2004) won the Whiting Writer's Award, the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Metcalf Award, and the Ruth Lilly Fellowship, given annually by Poetry Magazine. His earlier chapbook, Musica Humana, was also highly acclaimed. His poetry has appeared in the New Republic, the American Literary Review, and Salmagundi, among others. Ilya Kaminzky studied at the University of Rochester with James Longenbach, Barbara Jordan, and Jerold Ramsey.
