Spring 2024 Feature Course

AAAS 205-1: Black Life in Caribbean Art

Professor Adrienne Rooney

This course will explore how artists have redefined or expressed blackness. By examining various depictions of Black life, we will ask how have people resisted antiblackness in a region molded by racialized colonial hierarchies and cultural standards.

Monday and Wednesday from 4:50 to 6:05 p.m. in Hylan 203.

EDE 497-1: Black Girls and Women in Education

Dr. Tiffany Steele, Assistant Professor of Education, Higher Education Program, FDI Faculty Affiliate

This course will explore the intersectional experiences of Black girls and women in educational spaces and the history of their journeys to define institutional needs that can support Black girls' transition to post-secondary opportunities.

Mondays, in-person from 4:50 to 7:30 p.m. in the Warner School.
