Event Description

Eastman Opera Theatre
This Eastman Opera Theatre season offers unusual masterpieces by three great composers. We "preview" Benjamin Britten's centenary in 2013 with his The Rape of Lucretia, an ancient Roman story with a Christian moral. In Handel's Orlando, a fairy-tail story of Knights, gods, a shepherdess, and a magician is retold in a parade of stunning baroque arias. Kurt Weill's powerful "American Opera" Street Scene started out on Broadway but is now a welcome guest in Opera houses... and in Kodak Hall.
