Music Education for City Students

Slominski at church of Saints Peter and Paul

The Eastman School of Music successfully completed a three-year, $1 million Eastman Pathways challenge grant, made possible through the Talented Students in the Arts Initiative, a collaboration of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Surdna Foundation.

The school raised $1.52 million to establish the Eastman Pathways Endowed Fund. The grant called for Eastman to match the endowment portion of the gift on a dollar-for-dollar basis through private donations.

Eastman Pathways, a partnership between the Eastman School and the Rochester City School District, provides lessons and classes, mentoring, and performance opportunities to talented students from the school district who study in the Eastman Community Music School.
