The Center for Education Abroad in conjunction with our international partners, is excited to offer several virtual global opportunities for students! These virtual opportunities are not meant to take the place of a physical abroad experience however they offer valuable academic and intercultural experiences and exposure to cross-cultural competencies. Explore the following opportunities and contact an education abroad advisor with any questions.

WUN Virtual Education Abroad Program (online course availability for Fall 2021)

Take an online course through the Worldwide University Network (WUN). The COVID-19 pandemic has shut down many student exchange programs and opportunities for in-person study abroad. WUN has responded to this by launching a Virtual Education Abroad Program to enable students in member universities to connect with university life in another country (Rochester joined WUN in 2011).  This course is not intended to substitute or replace in-person courses at Rochester.

Rochester students are able to choose one course from a handful of courses offered online through Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil), to offer pathways to understanding the life and culture of the host country, and/or international engagement generally. There is no charge for enrolling these courses and students will need to seek approval from a faculty member from the authorized approval list in order to use a course to count for major, minor, or cluster.

If you are interested in taking an online course, please contact Mr. Theodore Pagano, Associate Director, Center for Education Abroad, tpagano@admin.rochester.edu by Wednesday, September 8.

Cost: no cost to student

Calendar: Most courses begin on or after October 20 and continue into February 2022
