David T. Kearns Center for Leadership and Diversity in Arts, Sciences, and Engineering

The College Prep Center
at East High School

The College Prep Center at East High School is a partnership of the University of Rochester's David T. Kearns Center for Leadership and Diversity in Arts, Sciences and Engineering and Office of Enrollment, East High School, and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.

The College Prep Center works to empower all students at East High to realize their academic and career potentials through preparation for successful college enrollment. All students at East will see themselves as potential college students, and have access to accurate and relevant information about the process of preparing for and successfully enrolling in college with appropriate financial aid and scholarship assistance.

CPC Students

The College Prep Center collaborates with teachers from all departments to provide resources and information to groups of students about the college-going process. Students in all grades benefit from these workshops because they learn how to critically examine their current academic standing as it relates to planning for a future career. Advisors tailor each workshop topic to the individual needs of the students and teachers we work with. If you’d like to partner with the College Prep Center for a workshop listed below, please contact Laura Albert.

“I have learned a great deal of patience from being in the CPC. In terms of the college process, it is important that I stay calm in each phase. My advisors’ abilities are endless. They truly are helpful and genuine. Numerous times we see them putting themselves aside for the needs of a student.”
~12th Grade Student

Being an active member of the College Prep Center has taught me to push myself more, and never give up. Students should visit the College Prep Center because the advisors give good advice and try to understand the different situations to help students find solutions.”
~12th Grade Student

“The CPC has a very positive impact on East HS. The CPC staff go into classes to help students start to think about college, careers, and habits students need to begin.”
