University of Rochester alumnus Dr. Mark Frohman has been presented the James S. Armstrong Alumni Service Award. Dr. Frohman graduated from the University of Rochester in 1966 and was presented the award on October 8, 2023, during Meliora Weekend at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Frohman has made a generous commitment to provide support to first-generation students at the University through the David T. Kearns Center for Leadership and Diversity. He established the Alan and Mark Frohman Summer Scholars Endowment to grant first-generation students access to study abroad programs, summer research opportunities, and summer courses. In his effort to expand the educational pipeline through the doctoral degree, Frohman was the primary visionary in forging the partnership between the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Morgan State University, Southern University and A&M College, North Carolina A&T University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and the University of Rochester. This innovative partnership is strengthening faculty-to-faculty connections through guest lectures and exchanges, allowing faculty to develop a deeper understanding of colleagues’ research and lab resources, and paving the way for joint interdisciplinary research projects and external funding awards.

Dr. Frohman is founder and president of Frohman Consulting Corp, a firm that works with senior executives
