About me...

Hey everyone! My name is Jackson Kane. I am a sophomore from Boring, Oregon (just about as exciting as it sounds). I play on the football team here at the University of Rochester. I am majoring in Psychology and Economics with a minor in Statistics. A fun fact about myself is that I'm color blind!I started research my first semester in the Political Science department. Throughout the year, I worked with Professor Gamm on coding the most comprehensive database in the world on state legislative action regarding the Equal Rights Amendment.Over the summer, I received the Schwartz Discover Grant to start a project on partisan divergence. Specifically, I looked at how state legislative action over the teaching of evolution became a partisan issue over the past 60 years.

How has your experience as a researcher influenced your career objectives?

I've been able to establish connections with professors nationwide and delve into thought-provoking topics. Through my experiences, I've come to the realization that my enthusiasm for addressing compelling questions is something I aspire to carry forward throughout my entire life.
