The Meliora Challenge is going national. In June 2012, the University launched a series of regional campaigns that are celebrating the Campaign’s remarkable progress and further conveying its ambitions. Across the country, alumni, parents, and friends are reconnecting with the University and getting reacquainted with the spirit of Meliora.
These celebrations are the culmination of their respective Regional Cabinets, the University’s key volunteer structures. Members of Regional Cabinets are energizing and engaging the Rochester community from coast to coast and increasing the University’s visibility and profile. Because of their leadership and efforts, The Meliora Challenge has been successfully launched in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, with additional celebrations in Florida.
George Eastman Circle members are supporting these efforts through new Regional Leadership Councils that are being launched throughout the country. Inaugural Councils have been formed in Washington, DC—chaired by Mark Zaid ’89; Boston—chaired by Dr. Drew Mittelman ’68, P’05; and in Rochester, New York—led by honorary chair E. Philip Saunders, also co-chair of the University of Rochester Medical Center campaign, and co-chaired by John Paganelli, Alexander Williams ’92, and Courtney Williams ’87.
