- The Hospital was again ranked as one of the top hospitals in New York State and the region. The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services gave the hospital a score of four out of five stars, which was attained by only 12 hospitals in the state. Also, U.S. News & World Report recognized Highland as a “Best Regional Hospital,” a designation earned by less than 10 percent of nearly 5,000 hospitals in the country.
- The Geriatric Fracture Center received the highest recertification available, Premier Level Status, through the International Geriatric Fracture Society CORE Certification Program. The center is part of a small collection of trailblazing fracture care programs in the United States that have this designation.
- Brand new, state-of-the-art surgical rooms became fully operational. The facilities were part of the completed first phase of a 30,000 square-foot project on the south side of the hospital.
