Hechmat And Marjorie Tabechian*

Inspired by a strong desire to support quality medical education and have a meaningful and lasting impact, Hechmat (Heshy) Tabechian, MD ’61M (MD), ’64M (Res) and Marjorie Tabechian ’60W have made an investment in the Medical Class of 1961 Endowed Scholarship by establishing a University of Rochester Charitable Gift Annuity. Their gift provides a stream of fixed income for life.

Additionally, Heshy and Marge made an outright gift of securities to establish the Hechmat and Marjorie Tabechian Endowed Scholarship. The Tabechian Endowed Scholarship was given in memory of Dr. Tabechian’s parents  and as a lasting legacy and tribute to their unyielding devotion to the University, the Medical Center, the community and the field of medicine.  The Tabechian’s take great pride knowing that their endowed scholarship will continue on; in perpetuity, supporting medical students as Tabechian Scholars and helping launch their careers as physicians and scientists of the future.

Heshy notes, “The Medical Center is an important part of our lives. Marge and I have enjoyed our alumni affiliations and volunteering over the years and we feel very strongly that it is important to ensure that future generations of medical students have the opportunity to pursue a Rochester education. Seeing the impact that scholarships have on deserving students gives us a good feeling.”
