Dashboard: International - Education Abroad: Office for Global Engagement
Purpose
General Purpose
The Education Abroad Dashboard displays all pertinent information and analytics related to all education abroad programs and students tracked by the University of Rochester's Office for Global Engagement.

General Usability
The dashboard is dynamic, which means that clicking certain areas will drill-down an filter the visualizations accordingly (Map and Destination Country vertical bar chart). For example, if after you set your filters on the right hand side of the dashboard you are interested in a specific  country on the map, you can both hover over that country to receive trend information, and click on that country to filter out any information related to any destination other than that country. By clicking either a specific country (or bar in the horizontal bar chart under the map), the user will also have the opportunity to navigate to a drilled-down and specific list report by clicking the "Go To List Report" link.

Filters
When users log into the dashboard, they should first select the filters they are interested in, located along the right-hand side of the dashboard (filters are defaulted to include all values). The filters are dynamic, and are built to use "only relevant values," meaning that some selections may change or be limited as a result of previous filters that have been set. Filters set on the dashboard will automatically be applied to the list report and visa-versa.

MAP
This the is the first and most central section of the dashboard. The map is completely dynamic, and color-coded by region. The number inside each country represents the number of students who have studied abroad in that location. The map can be filtered either by using the filters on the right hand side, or simply by clicking an individual country.
On Hover - By simply hovering over a country without a click, the user can view the trends related to student populations studying abroad in a country by year an gender.
On Click - If the user wants to drill-down on an individual country, simply click the country. This will filter the dashboard, as well as trigger the option for the user to "Go To List Report," which will show up at the bottom of the tooltip.

Student Participation Breakdown
The Student Participation Breakdown section of the dashboard is found under the map, and includes data and analytics for several pertinent topics including Destination Country (ranked in order of popularity), School, Major, Program, Degree, and Gender.
Destination Country
This horizontal bar chart corresponds with the above map, and displays total number of students studying abroad in a specific location. The horizontal bars are further broken down and color-coded by program sponsorship

Yellow - U of R Sponsored ; Green - Not Reported ; Blue - Non-U of R Sponsor

The orange box highlights the total number of students so it is easy to see. If the user is interested in the total number of students broken out by sponsorship, they can:
Hover over the color-coded section to view number in tool tip
Select the filter on the right-hand side of the dashboard

To the right of 'Destination Country,' there are four filterable tables which display (a) School; (b) Major; (c) Program abroad; (d) Class Standing. Like every other section of the dashboard, these tables react to all filters and clicks within the dashboard, and are completely drillable. After a selection in the tables, the user can always click on the "Go To List Report" for a full detailed and exportable list.

List Report
Users can eight navigate to the list report from the dashboard by clicking and drilling and then selecting the "Go To Report List" link, or simply by clicking the List Report tab at the top of the Tableau server.
