Cumulative Salary Report by Employee Name (Workday) (Cumsal)
Purpose
This report tracks pay and benefits allocations and re-allocations for employees paid from an FAO. This report is identical to Cumulative Salary Report by EmpID with the exception that this report sorts results by employee name. Administrators use this information for budgeting purposes.
The user sees only employee salaries for FAOs to which they have access rights to view. If an employee is paid from an FAO that the user does not have access to, that salary will not appear as a line. Because of this limitation of access based on the viewer’s access level, this report is not considered to reflect cumulative salary for an employee.
A user can drill from this report to the Cumulative Salary Pay Period Detail.
This report, like all Cumsal reports, represents pay and benefits allocations according to the University’s financial system. The University’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS) also records salary and pay, and it records it slightly differently. The two systems should record the same amount paid, however they may differ on the date of payment because they differ in how they record re-allocations. Cumsal reports record a re-allocation in the current month, even if the re-allocation is for a pay period in a previous month. For example, in June a pay transaction is re-allocated to January of the same year. Cumsal records the change in the June report only. In contrast, HRMS records the re-allocation in January, not June.
To compare data prior to FY2015, run this report and the FRS version of this report. The FRS version of this report is titled Cumulative Salary Report by Emp Name.
Description
This columnar report contains the amount of pay, extra pay, and benefits pay allocated or re-allocated to an employee. Amounts are aggregated monthly, not by pay period. For staff paid bi-weekly, this causes an increase in pay for months with 3 bi-weekly pay dates.
Rows represent employees. Employees paid from multiple FAOs will appear as multiple lines, provided the viewer has access rights to those additional FAOs. Users will not see salary data for FAOs for which he or she does not have access. The employee name displayed is the name in effect at the last pay period from which the employee was paid. If the employee name has changed since the employee was last paid, the employee could be displayed under multiple names. Consider using the Cumulative Salary Report by EmpleID to group all possible names together.
Columns represent types of pay and benefit allocations and re-allocations. Four types of allocations are included: regular pay, re-allocated pay, extra pay, and re-allocated extra pay. Benefits data includes the rate code and rate. Total aggregate pay and benefits value is included.
