University IT uses Sophos PureMessage as a web-based spam filtering system for all email messages on University servers. Visit the spam management page to sign up for PureMessage spam filtering and tutorials on email client configuration.
Spam filtering may be set up not only for individual email accounts, but for Exchange mailing lists as well.
Filtering Spam in Mailing Lists
Exchange distribution lists can be set up to filter out spam messages.
- Spam filtering must be specified when submitting a distribution list request. Click "yes" for the "Enable spam protection" heading.
- NOTE: List owner will need to have PureMessage enabled on their own email account.
