  Candice Lee, Roseanna Guzman, Laura Nally, Bianca Redhead, Linda Ding, Melissa Mastroianni, and Kristin Kelly, sit for a portrait in September. The seven, currently in their second year, comprise the first-ever all female surgical resident class at the URMC and possibly the country.

  Artist Julian Norton assembles her installation, "Clear," as part of the "Extreme Material" exhibit that began its run at the Memorial Art Gallery in October. The piece is made entirely of Neutrogena soap.

  “[T]he history of our University is the history of Ever Better,” President Joel Seligman said in announcing the University’s $1.2 billion fundraising initiative at Meliora Weekend 2011.

  Meliora Weekend keynote speaker Bill Clinton, the founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States, told alumni and students “cooperation works in the real world, not conflict.”

  The University’s Meliora Weekend of celebration was capped with fireworks over the River Campus.

  Tomasz Arnold, an Eastman School of Music junior percussion performance major from Poland, plays the marimba in a practice room in the school's East Wing. Arnold took First Prize in the 2011 Percussive Arts Society's International Solo Competition.

  Dr. Edward Atwater, professor emeritus of medicine, poses with a small sampling of his collection of AIDS posters. The collection of over 6,200 posters was published as an online exhibit in November.

  After hitting the national scene on the reality show The Sing-Off, the YellowJackets performed two sold out shows at Kodak Hall, along with fellow Sing-Off stars Pentatonix and Delilah and students from the new a cappella program at the World of Inquiry school.
