WHAT: The University of Rochester's 27th annual Viennese Ball, hosted by UR Ballroom, is the social dance event of the year.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 20, in the May Room, located on the 4th floor of Wilson Commons, on the University of Rochester's River Campus.

ABOUT: Students, faculty, and community members join together in "Old Vienna" to put their waltz skills on display and don snazzy formal attire or period costumes. A formal "Simply Italian" dinner in The Meliora will be held at 6 p.m. prior to the event. At 7 p.m., a complementary crash course in Viennese Waltz will be held in the May Room. The ball will commence at 8 p.m., with refreshments and live music available, allowing guests to dance the night away.

TICKETS: Tickets, which can be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons, are $15 for University of Rochester undergraduate students, $17 for University faculty, staff, and graduate students, and $20 for the general public. Tickets for the "Simply Italian" dinner are $23 and include free admission to the ball. Tickets purchased at the door are $20, cash only.
