PHOTO GALLERY: Wilson Day and George Eastman Day of Service

Celebrated each fall for more than 25 years, Wilson Day is a day of community service for incoming University students. Nearly 1,300 freshmen go out into the community to bond as a class, learn about the important work being done by organizations in their new home town, and volunteering to help with gardening and landscaping, setting up classrooms, interacting with senior residents, and other needed activities.

Students this year volunteered with 73 community organizations such as Volunteers of America, the Seneca Park Zoo, Hill Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation, Foodlink, the Strong Museum of Play, the Mary Cariola Children’s Center, and the Susan B. Anthony House.

The George Eastman Day of Service was first held in 2010, and was born out of the school’s and its founder’s commitment to community enrichment. More than 200 freshmen musicians volunteer their time with organizations throughout the city
