Ted Martonen M (PhD) has won the 1997 Computerworld Smithsonian Award for Medicine for his supercomputer simulations of the human lung. Martonen is a research physicist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory in North Carolina.

Robert Brodell M (MD), '81M (Res) has been named a "Master Teacher" at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Brodell is professor of internal medicine and head of the dermatology section of the department of Internal Medicine at NEOUCOM and holds several appointments at other schools and hospitals in northeastern Ohio.

Mark H. Stoler '76RC, M (MD), '84M (Res), '85 (Flw) was promoted to professor of pathology and obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Virginia. He writes, "Four years in beautiful central Virginia have been wonderful. But Rochester will always be home."

Dennis H. Kraus '81RC, M (MD) has co-edited Nasal Neoplasia (Thieme Press) with Howard L. Levine. He reports that it is one in a series of monographs on rhinology and sinusology focusing on sinus and nasal cancer.

Lyness '82RC, M (MD) e-mails, "I am an assistant professor of psychiatry at the medical school and wanted to let you know about my book that came out this past March, Psychiatric Pearls (F.A. Davis Co.), an introductory guide for medical students and residents." He has a message for his classmates, "Makes a great Christmas gift! Help me pay off my school loans!"
