Kimi Fukushima Gosney ’69 writes, “My father, David Fukushima (PhD) passed away in January 2006. He inspired me to study chemistry and attend Rochester. I miss him.”

Michael Lodato (MA) is the author of Integrated Sales Process Management: A Methodology for Improving Sales Effectiveness in the 21st Century. Michael is business professor emeritus and executive-in-residence at California Lutheran University, as well as president of consulting firm MWL and Co.

Raymond Martin (PhD), chair of the philosophy department at Union College, is the author of The Rise and Fall of Soul and Self: An Intellectual History of Personal Identity.

Betty Lou Babcock Fisher W (Mas) (see ’50 undergraduate). . . . Thomas Hendrickson (MS), founder of CPAC Inc., was named one of Rochester’s Top 50 CEOs by Rochester Business Journal. . . . Calvin Kalman (PhD) writes, “Please inform my friends at the University that my wife, Judy, passed away last June 29. Rabbi Shuchat, who married us, officiated at the funeral. Our son, Ben, read a poem, and friends and relatives read eulogies based on discussions with our other son, Sam, and me. Judy was buried near her parents.” . . . An article by Richard Kellogg W (EdD), “Tom Swift’s Mysterious Motorcycle,” was published in the magazine Biker Ally. Richard is a professor of psychology at Alfred State College.

1971
Gary Schuster (PhD) was named provost of Georgia Tech. Previously, he was dean of Georgia Tech’s College of Sciences and professor of chemistry.

1972
Margaret Logan (MS), ’82 (PhD), ’88 (Flw), an assistant professor of chemistry at SUNY Brockport, received the university’s Chancellor’s Award for excellence in teaching last June.

1973
Janet Zandy (MA) is a coeditor of American Working-Class Literature: An Anthology. Her previous book, Physical Labor, Class, and Cultural Work, received honorable mention for the John Hope Franklin Award from the American Studies Association. Janet is interim chair of the English department at Rochester Institute of Technology.

1974
Amitave Bose (PhD), an economics professor at the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, was voted one of India’s best business school instructors by Business Today magazine.

1975
Dyan Monte Verde (MS) was nominated for the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists’ Outstanding Member of the Year Award for 2006. Dyan has retired from teaching high school chemistry and biology but continues to substitute teach and tutor in Batavia, N.Y. . . . Carl Sassano S (MBA), president and CEO of Transcat Inc., was named one of Rochester’s Top 50 CEOs by Rochester Business Journal.

Roger Hodskins S (MBA) is vice president of business development and alliances at Lumigent Technologies, a database auditing company in Acton, Mass.

1982
Barry Gilbert S (MBA), chairman and CEO if IEC Electronics, was named one of Rochester’s Top 50 CEOs by Rochester Business Journal.

Michel Coutu S (MBA) is cochair and president of the Jean Coutu Group’s U.S. operations. The company owns Eckerd and Rite Aid drugstores.

Arunas Chesonis S (MBA), ’04 (Honorary) was named chair of the advisory committee for the Earth System Initiative at MIT. ESI conducts interdisciplinary environmental research. In addition, Arunas, chair and CEO of PaeTec Communications, was named one of Rochester’s Top 50 CEOs by Rochester Business Journal. . . . Gus Demopoulos S (MBA) is a client advisor in Deutsche Bank’s New York City office.
