Ingrid Jurgensen Ellis writes, “I am training to be an aide for the developmentally disabled.” Ingrid lives in Webster, N.Y. . . . Maddie Fuhr Hjulstrom writes that she and her husband, Richard ’82, moved to Cape Cod last summer after living in Pennsylvania for 13 years. “I am the northeast regional community relations manager for Barnes & Noble, overseeing stores in New England and New York State (including Rochester). Rich is starting a new job as a process engineer at Associates of Cape Cod. Our older daughter, Elizabeth ’06, graduated from Rochester with a degree in American Sign Language and works in Rochester; younger daughter Meghann is a junior at Penn State. Watching Elizabeth graduate from our alma mater was bittersweet—we still love the University, and our memories are very happy ones.”

Richard Hjulstrom (see ’81). . . . James Pawelczyk, an associate professor of kinesiology at Penn State, last June testified before Congress about NASA’s budget and programs. He said that deep cuts in funding for biological and physical research have affected research conducted on the International Space Station. . . . Navy Capt. Jeffrey Powers is commander of Submarine Squadron 7.

1983
Steven Gerlach graduated from the University of Maine School of Law last June.

1984
Scott Evans writes that one of his works of art is featured on ARTWalk, a section of University Avenue near the Memorial Art Gallery. . . . Immanuel Ho ’88M (MD) was elected governor of the eastern Pennsylvania region of the American College of Gastroenterology. Immanuel is chief of the gastroenterology and hepatology division of the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa. . . . Nancy Peckham Niemi ’01W (PhD) is executive director of Rochester publisher Publick Musick.

1985
Timothy Baxter writes, “My wife, Lynn, and I announce the birth of our second child, Elizabeth, on November 13, 2005. Elizabeth’s older brother, Andrew, is 5.” . . . Keith Bell is senior vice president of fuels for the Pantry, a convenience store chain. . . . Jay Marinstein was named a 2006 “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics magazine and Philadelphia Magazine. Marinstein is cochair of the litigation department in the Pittsburgh office of Fox Rothschild. . . . Dan Roeser was named a vice president of Soil and Materials Engineers in Plymouth, Mich. . . . Forrest Strauss writes, “I am pleased to report that I have been heavily involved in public service and community activities of late. In April 2006, I was appointed acting village justice in Harriman, N.Y. In May, I was elected third vice president of the Orange County (N.Y.) Bar Association. Finally, in July, I completed a two-year term as president of Congregation Eitz Chaim in Monroe, N.Y., during which I helped initiate and supervise a shul construction project that will see us in a brand-new synagogue by this August. I continue to work full time as a principal attorney for the New York State Grievance Committee in White Plains. I am really tired all the time, but I enjoy it!” . . . Jim Walsh (see ’86).

Lisa Hardy Norwood ’95W (MS) sends a photo and writes, “We had a reunion of several D.C.–area cross-country track and field alumni. For the past 13 years, Stu and Jennifer Teahan Wright ’88N (MS) have graciously opened their home for a reunion of sorts. Each year, we’ve gathered for a ‘team photo.’ This year’s gathering was relatively small, giving us the opportunity for meaningful conversation. Pictured, left to right, are Jennifer, me, Jim Walsh ’85, Lillian O’Sullivan Wrynn ’87, Cathy Woods Thornberry, and Jackie Quirk Kelley ’89.”

Amy Steinman Cohen and her husband, Ken, announce the birth of their daughter, Jessica Brynn, on November 14, 2005. . . . Shane Coppola ’89S (MBA) is chair of the board of directors of The Tube Media Corp. in Ft. Lauderdale. . . . Suzanne Romajas and Tony Ramos were married on August 19 in Southington, Conn. Suzanne is assistant chief litigation counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., and Tony is a senior analyst in the Government Accountability Office.

Christina Burke is curator of Native American and non-Western art at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Okla. . . . John Horn, a litigation associate with the Buffalo office of Harter Secrest & Emery, is chair of the Buffalo Philharmonic development committee. . . . Jackie Quirk Kelley (see ’86).
