Alumna Heads Kendall College

Nivine Megahed EDUCATION LEADER: Megahed began her tenure as president of Kendall College last fall.

A Rochester graduate who has held faculty and administrative positions in higher education for the past 17 years is the new president of Kendall College in Chicago.

Nivine Megahed ’87 (PhD), who most recently was a vice president for Kaplan Higher Education, began her appointment last fall at Kendall, a private college that offers degrees in business, hospitality management, culinary arts, and early childhood education.

“We are thrilled to have found a professional educator of Dr. Megahed’s stature and experience, who will help us continue to grow, diversify, and reach an even broader student population,” Penny Brown, the chair of Kendall’s board of trustees, said when Megahed was appointed.

Megahed, who earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at Rochester, has served as a dean of clinical psychology programs at the American School of Professional Psychology in Honolulu and as the president of the University of Sarasota (now Argosy University). She also was the president and a cofounder of IMPAC University in Florida.
