The Goergen Award for Distinguished Contributions to Undergraduate Learning in the College was presented to the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. Created to support and increase the numbers of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented minority undergraduates pursuing doctoral degrees, the Rochester office of the national program is directed by Beth Olivares and assistant director John Barker.

First presented in 1997, the awards are named for and sponsored by trustee and former board chairman Robert Goergen ’60 and his wife, Pamela.
