David Vandersall (MS) has written The Concise Encyclopedia of Periodontology. The book, published by Blackwell Munksgaard, is a guide to the terminology, technical vocabulary, classic clinical cases, and literature of periodontology.

1970

Stephen Scheiber (Res) writes that he has received the Distinguished Psychiatrist Service Award from the American College of Psychiatrists in recognition of his contributions to American psychiatry, including his leadership in gaining recognition for 10 new subspecialties in psychiatry and neurology since 1990. A former chief executive officer of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he holds appointments at Northwestern University Feinstein School of Medicine and at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

1973

Elizabeth Downing (MD) writes that she has been named director of Student Health Services at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

1987

Sarah Whitman (MD), a clinical assistant professor at Drexel University College of Medicine, has launched a Web site and blog: www.howtocopewithpain.org, which discusses coping with chronic pain, her specialty in her psychiatric practice. She writes, “The sites are to help patients with chronic pain, providing information and support. They have a psychiatric and psychological focus, and also include information from other disciplines, and interviews with providers, researchers, patients and families on topics related to pain.”

Roger Di Pietro (Pdc) writes that he is a coauthor of the psychological textbook, Early Recollections: Interpretative Method and Application.
