1980

August Curley (MS), a management consultant in Atlanta and a 1950 graduate of Morehouse College, writes: “I have been selected by Dr. Robert M. Franklin, president of Morehouse College, to receive the Presidential Award of Distinction for my personal and professional achievements in analytical and biochemical toxicology, for my service to the governments of Egypt, France, Switzerland, and other foreign countries, as well as my commitment to the college over the past 60 years.” He adds that he was a student of the late professors Louis Lasagna and Victor DiStefano of the Department of Pharmacology and of the late professor Angelo Notides of the Department of Environmental Medicine.

1984

Christopher Hillyer (MD), a specialist in blood banking, transfusion medicine, and hematology, has been appointed president and CEO of the New York Blood Center, a community-based, nonprofit blood center that serves hospitals in the Greater New York area.
