1963

John Popp has been appointed chairman of the department of neurosurgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

1965

Lawrence Marcus writes: “I met my current wife, Eugenia Volz, at our 40th Monroe High School (Rochester) reunion in 1999. We’ve been together since May 2001. After living in Raleigh, N.C., for eight years, we moved to Oxnard Shores, in Southern California, to be closer to her son and our two granddaughters. It’s fun being a three-minute walk from the ocean.”

1966

In the March–April issue, we incorrectly identified the name of the professorship held by Jeff Raffel. Jeff is the Charles P. Messick Professor of Public Administration at the University of Delaware. We apologize for the error.

1968

1969

Elaine Dutka writes that in January 2009, “gathering in Washington, D.C., to celebrate Barack Obama’s inaugural, a few U of R grads came up with an idea: toasting their 40th reunion in California wine country.” In October, she, Sandra Lee Kawano, Sandra’s husband, Arn, Peter Goldscheider, Susan Malone Back, Daniel White, Daniel’s wife, Maxine Davidowitz, Judith Levy Meltzer, John Levey, and John’s girlfriend, Karen Cease, “spent a long weekend in the Napa Valley where we ate too much, soaked in a hot springs mineral pool, and toured the Schramsberg Vineyards.” In the front row (left to right) are Arn, John, Sandra, Susan, Elaine, and Maxine; and in the back row (left to right) are Judith, Karen, Daniel, and Peter. . . . Helen Conway Flynn ’69E, ’72W (MA) has written a book, Jewels for My Granddaughters (Clareau Press). Helen operates her own life coaching consultancy, Clareau Coaching, in Potomac Falls, Va.
