1953

Rebekah Yates Anders (MD) is the coauthor, with her son David, a geriatrician, of Octogenarians Say the Darndest Things! (David Anders).

1955

Mario Sparagana (MD) (see ’51 undergraduate).

1970

Jonathan Samet (MD) has been appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Cancer Advisory Board. Jonathan is the Flora L. Thornton Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California’s medical school and director of the school’s Institute for Global Health.

1977

Andrew Scala (PhD) received a 2010 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He teaches general biology, microbiology, and genetics at Duchess Community College in Poughkeepsie. He’s been a member of the faculty there since 1983.

1979

Frank Edwards (MD) has published his first novel, Final Mercy (Zumaya Publications), a medical thriller. Frank is the founder and medical director of Delphi Emergency Physicians and a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Roger Di Pietro (Pdc) has written a book, The Depression Code: Deciphering the Purposes of Neurotic Depression (Lulu, 2010), exploring low-level depressive disorders and their symptoms.
