DYNAMIC DUO: Guard Sam Borst-Smith ’17 (right) won national attention for an intentionally missed free throw that led to a Yellowjackets’ overtime victory against the University of Chicago in February. Borst-Smith caught his own rebound and passed the ball to Mack Montague ’17 (left), who made the winning shot. The play aired on ESPN and went viral on YouTube, leading fans to cast enough votes for Borst-Smith to win State Farm’s inaugural Assist of the Year award. Borst-Smith was recognized in Houston during the NCAA college men’s basketball Final Four events.
