ECO-BEBOP? Rochester’s first artist-in-residence, Ash Arder creatively explores physical and conceptual systems, especially those involving ecology. She’s been searching the archives at Sibley Music Library this spring as part of her new project on jazz musicians’ expression of ideas about the environment. The artist-in-residence program biennially will bring an artist or art collective to campus for two years to teach, conduct research, and produce a body of work drawing on the resources in University labs, libraries, performance spaces, research centers, and special collections.
