Supervisor's Guide to Hiring Process

Posting the Position

  • Once the Staff Requisition form is received in the HR Service Center it is posted in the HRMS system for internal and external candidates to review. Policy 133 outlines that the position should be posted 4 business days prior to an offer being made. If there is a Strong Internal Candidate then the department may choose to only post the position within the department for 3 business days.
  • An e-mail notification will be sent from the HR Service Center to the department contact listed on the requisition form. The e-mail will confirm the posting number, posting date, the first date an offer can be made and will include information regarding the department's responsibilities in documenting affirmative action information during the search process as as well as a link to this website.
