Does this Capture the Spirit of Don Quixote?

I mentioned it earlier, but here’s the English trailer for Donkey Xote.

Personally, I’m pretty disappointed. Don Quixote is a fun, hilarious, readable enjoyable book, but this just seems silly and bad. The cleavage shot at :30 is priceless and the reference to “producers who saw Shrek“ is tongue-in-cheek not funny. And “I Fought the Law”? Really?

It’s good that the plot—from what I can pick up—is centered around the second volume, and it’s probably true that animation is the only possible way to capture the spirit of the book, but still . . .

Maybe I’m being too harsh though. Anyone out there willing to shell out $10 to see this?
