Three Percent #26: What's in Store for 2008 (Er . . . 2012)

After a run of special podcasts, we’re back to the normal Tom and Chad show . . . This week we decided to talk about books we’re looking forward to and other random predictions about 2012. (I believe that is the year we are living in. Although as you’ll hear when you listen, I have a few problems knowing what now is now.)

In the podcast, we reference 2012 Book Preview from The Millions, which you can find by clicking here.

This week’s music is City with No Children one of the rockingist songs from The Suburbs. (I love this song because it brings together so many motifs on the album as a whole. Letter writing, loss of youth, distrust of the rich, driving, underground highways, light and the absence thereof, etc., etc.)

(And yes, we tried to use the Iggy Pop album referenced in the podcast, but none of the songs really worked that well for this. Nevertheless, check out Preliminaires, which is based on Houellebecq’s The Possibility of an Island.)

As always you can subscribe to the podcast in iTunes by clicking here. To subscribe with other podcast downloading software, such as Google’s Listen, copy the following link.
