Hightlights from this week on Three Percent:

• Industry-wide, the big news of the week was the Booker longlist, which has been described as “quiet”;

• Stuff finally came out from Dalkey Archive. Namely, the Spring 2007 D.A. Annual issue of RCF came out (disappointing), as did CONTEXT 20

• Speaking of CONTEXT 20, it contains a decent article by Michael Pinker on Witold Gombrowicz, an author everyone should read

• Thanks to an article by Tabish Khair, we were able to talk a bit about how magical realism has taken an aesthetic downturn of sorts;

• The Espresso Book Machine was back on the site this week, thanks to an article in the NY Times;

• And we let the LongPen technological innovation out to rewrite the publishing rules—make itself look silly and green;

• No one has named an author from Brunei, proving something about something;

• ArteEast has a special focus on Iranian Persian Literature, and The Translation Project is well worth exploring;

• In online mag news, Bomb is making a lot of its past content available online for free, and the August issue of Words Without Borders is now available;

• E.J. Van Lanen brought us reviews of Jose Eduardo Agualusa’s The Book of Chameleons and Lars Saabye Christensen’s The Model.

• And most importantly, we learned about Google Trends.
