2009 Zayed Book Award in Literature

Over the weekend, it was announced that Jamal Al Ghitani of Egypt won the Zayed Book Award in Literature for the sixth volume of Dafater Al-Tadween, a historical novel that “ventures the ancient history of Egypt in effort to revive the myths and stories through the use of sufistic parables.”

I believe the actual award ceremony takes place during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which I’ll be attending next month . . .
