Museum Giveaway on Facebook

As a way of rewarding out Open Letter Facebook Fans (if you’re not one, click this link to fan us), we’re giving away 10 copies of Macedonio Fernandez’s The Museum of Eterna’s Novel (The First Good Novel) to randomly selected fans who either “like” or “comment” on the post about the giveaway. (It’s at the top of the Open Letter page and should be really easy to find . . .)

For more info about Macedonio, you can also check out translator Margaret Schwartz’s introduction, which we serialized a few weeks back. And here’s a link to the official book page, and you can click here to read an excerpt.

Hopefully we’ll soon be able to post the audio from the Macedonio event that we did at the Americas Society a couple weeks ago. I swear that was the best panel I’ve ever moderated, and I learned a few new tidbits about Macedonio. Namely that he didn’t believe in medical knowledge (which is why he lost all his teeth), and was adamantly opposed to public transportation (I believe he referred to the “tyranny of bus routes”). Such a perfect Open Letter author.
