The Zoo in Winter Launch Party

Come join Melville House to celebrate the publication of Polina Barskova’s The Zoo in Winter, a collection of her brilliant and intoxicating poetry.

Barskova will be joined by the poets Irina Mashinski (Volk) and Genya Turovskaya (The Tides, New Years Party). Translator Martin Woodside will read from Of Gentle Wolves: an Anthology of Romanian Poetry, forthcoming from Calypso Editions. Both of Barskova’s translators, David Stromberg and Boris Dralyuk, will be present to read poetry and discuss the translation process.

The fabulous night of poetry (in Russian and English) will be followed by drinking and celebration upstairs at the bar Solas (232 E. 9th St.).
