Powell's Books: Amanda Michalopoulou with translator Karen Emmerich

Join Powell’s on Hawthorn on Wednesday, April 16th, at 7:30 P.M. for a conversation and book signing with Greek author Amanda Michalopoulou and translator Karen Emmerich for Why I Killed My Best Friend.

From ’70s, post-dictatorship Greece to the present, Michalopoulou’s Why I Killed My Best Friend charts the ups, downs, and fallings-out of the powerful self-destructive bond only true best friends can have. Simply and beautifully written, Why I Killed My Best Friend is a novel that ultimately compares and explores friendship as a political system of totalitarianism and democracy.

The event is free and open to the public. Powell’s on Hawthorn is located at 3723 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, OR.
