If you currently prepare the budget for an FAO (Financial Activity Object) in either the Internet Budgeting System (IBS) or the Web Budget System, chances are you will be doing the same with the new UR Budget system. Each FAO will have a “plan file” which will allow you to input budget information for each Spend/Revenue category, adjust labor budgets by person, and run reports to validate your input.

Every person that develops a budget will notice that the user interface is different from the current budgeting systems. Rather than the system being web-based, UR Budget has an Excel-like user interface. Based on highlighted input fields, standard calculations are coded in the system thus reducing any errors that might occur with a user developed Excel spreadsheet.
