Utilizing standard equipment can save your department time and money because the equipment has already been evaluated for use throughout the enterprise by Clinical Engineering, Value Analysis, IT Security, and Corporate Purchasing
Beginning Q1 2022, URMC’s Supply Chain team began an initiative to standardize the equipment procurement process by implementing an online equipment standards platform. This platform will serve as the sole source of truth for service line leaders when researching standards and requesting equipment quotes.
Beginning on June 15th, UR Medicine’s Equipment Standards Quote Platform, hosted by OpenMarkets, will direct users to preferred and standardized equipment organized by category and service line.
The use of the Equipment Standards Quote Platform to acquire quotes will be required prior to purchase of equipment that has been standardized within the system. This will promote our organizational standards and increase efficiency.

- Health System-wide, 24/7 access to standard equipment product information
- Direct access to our sales representatives for standardized and preferred products

Prior to go-live in mid-June 2022, authorized users will be provided training by Corporate Purchasing and the OpenMarkets team.
