How to give

University of Rochester accepts donations of cryptocurrencies* that are convertible to US dollars by our third party processor BitPay. BitPay may limit donations from some countries in order to adhere to those nations’ cryptocurrency regulations. We are only able to accept donations of $100,000 or less per day via cryptocurrency. For donors in the United States of America, the IRS has classified cryptocurrency as a form of property for tax purposes. All contributions of cryptocurrency are immediately converted to cash and cannot be refunded for any reason. University of Rochester does not maintain crypto wallets nor accept transactions directly in cryptocurrencies.

*Bitpay supports Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and 5 USD-pegged stablecoins (GUSD, USDC, USDP, DAI, and BUSD)
