Commencement

Celebrating the Class of 2024

On May 17, the University conferred academic degrees to more than 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students at its 174th Commencement ceremony.

An audience of thousands—including family, friends, loved ones, faculty, staff, community members, and distinguished guests—celebrated the graduates in person, while thousands more tuned in online from across the globe.

At Rochester, you build your own curriculum with your own unique strengths and interests. There are no required subjects. You study only what you’re passionate about, choosing a major in one of the three divisions of learning and taking thematic three-course clusters in other areas.
