At Rochester:

  • Played on both the baseball and football teams, and was head coach of the baseball team
  •  In baseball, he was a four-year letter winner
  • Voted Teammate of the Year twice and Best Offensive Player twice
  • Earned Second Team All-UAA honors as a junior and as a fifth-year senior was awarded honorable mention All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association
  •  Was ranked sixth in career batting average and ranked in every batting category at Rochester upon graduation
  • He is the only student-athlete/alumni in school history to participate in an NCAA baseball regional playoff game as a player and as a coach—the only two Rochester baseball teams ever to reach the NCAA tournament
  • As a head coach, Hartz received the UCAA Baseball Coaching Staff of the Year Award in 1999
  • For the football team, he started and lettered two years and was a member of the 1987 team that reached the NCAA playoffs

Post-Graduate

  • Hartz graduated with a B.S. in Economics
  • Earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the Simon School in 1998
  • He is the Co-founder and Architect of Master Guru, children’s education software, and has been the President since 2003
  • Currently resides in Wilson, NY
