Research Computing Consultation
The Center of Excellence in Data Science (CoE) has partnered with the Center for Integrated Research Computing to provide expert advice for potential industry partners with advanced computing, visualization, storage, and network resource questions.
An initial one-on-one consultation for assistance in defining requirements for research computing and advice on technical specifications for system design and implementation, as appropriate, will be available.
Eligibility
This service is available to any company operating in New York State with data science research and analytics needs.
Key Features
Organizations who participate in a research computing consultation will have access to:
- Information on generally available research computing resources, including hardware characteristics, available software, and resource capabilities
- Guidance on collaborating with the University of Rochester and potential research computing and visualization resources, including system environments software tools and software libraries
- Advice/support for grant proposals (e.g., Small Business Innovation Research program)
Cost
Consultation requests will be reviewed to ensure they are relevant. Those approved for an initial consultation will typically be provided at no cost. Longer-term consulting or collaborations could take the form of a specialized project, formal research agreement, or proposal development, and will be subject to a charge, as determined on a case-by-case basis.
