The painting component of this work shows the model electric lawnmower I used as a teenager. The objects partially obstructing the view of it connects to a personal shift in aesthetic preferences that also aligns with a changing cultural aesthetic. This work attempts toÊrelate imagery and representation to objects and function along a delicateÊline of comprehension Ð a line like the remaining one connecting usÊto things we used to need Ð things that we have almost forgotten.

(the monstrance and kneeler)

The painting components in this series of works are mostly connected to objects related to former needs. This painting of a monstrance relates to my Catholic upbringing; in front of it is a kneeler facing the object of devotion. I have converted it to a chair with a heated vibrating option which faces the opposite way. Trebling in fear before an omniscient God is converted to massaging comfort with that god behind me.

This work attempts toÊrelate a painting of baby formula measuring cups  along a delicateÊline of comprehension Ð a line like the remaining one connecting usÊto things we used to need Ð things that we have almost forgotten. Audience members can put their heads inside to hear the audio.
