Since its launch in 2006, the Rochester Center for Community Leadership has participated in the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL). This instrument measures the Social Change Model of Leadership (which we use as a guide for our programs.
The following summarizes findings from across many studies and schools involved with MSL. High-Impact Practices in Student Leadership Development include:
Socio-cultural conversations with peers
Mentoring Relationships
Community Service
Membership in off-campus organizations
The MSL Insight Report that was distributed nationwide featured two schools that are “approaching leadership development and bringing to life the findings discussed in the report.
I’m pleased to say that the University of Rochester and specifically the Rochester Center for Community leadership was one of the schools highlighted. Programs that were identified include our Slingshot to Success, Compass to Personal Success and Rochester Urban Fellows
