Publish in JUR

JUR publishes high-quality undergraduate research every semester.

Quick publication times

Upon acceptance for publication, submissions will be revised by our editorial board. Within 1 semester of the acceptance, the finalized article will be published and available on our website. For more details, view our publication timeline.


Crossref and Digital Object Identifier registration

All articles published with JUR will be uploaded to the University of Rochester Research Repository, which includes a DOI for these articles. As well, all articles be registered on Crossref, allowing for articles to be viewed online through multiple research repositories.


No publication fee

There are no fees associated with publication in JUR. All articles published with JUR are open-access and free to view. Authors of published articles will receive a complimentary copy of the publication free of charge.


No submission exclusivity

All articles submitted to JUR can be simultaneously submitted to other journals. Aswell, JUR can publish any work that you have created which has been (or is to be) published in another journal. However, please note that many academic journals have restrictions on multiple submissions, so look over the other journals’ guidelines and regulations before you decide to submit to JUR.​


No tedious revision process

Once accepted to JUR, authors will not be required to submit any revisions to the text of their articles. However, authors may be asked to provide some clarification on the intended meaning of some parts of their article, or submit high-quality versions of their figures, during the editorial process.


Simple publication guidelines

Whether submitting a research article, review article, or correspondence, all the guidelines for submission can be found here. These guidelines allow for minimal revisions prior to submission, and keep the article within the style of the field.
