Gateways Music Festival Orchestra announces Carnegie Hall debut as part of spring 2022 festival

A Gateways Orchestra concert in New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall will highlight the 2022 Gateways Music Festival, in association with Eastman School of Music. In Rochester from April 18 to April 20, 2022, the festival will feature a series of recitals, talks, a film screening, and a panel discussion before moving to New York City for a similar series of events from April 21 to 24.

50 Years in Hollywood: A Conversation with Barry Meyer ’64

Join the University’s Alumni Board for a conversation with Barry Meyer ’64, former chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment and a member of the University’s Board of Trustees, about his longtime and prolific career in the entertainment industry. The virtual event takes place Thursday, June 24, from noon to 12:45 p.m. EDT. Register here to attend. A link to join the program will be included in your confirmation email upon registering.

Annual nonviolence retreat

Join the M.K. Gandhi Institute for a retreat to explore the world of nonviolence, and practice skills that will help you implement nonviolence in your daily life. This online workshop will take place Monday, August 9, through Friday, August 13, from 9:30 a.m. to noon EDT; participants will spend part of each morning learning about and discussing different aspects of nonviolence. The sessions will continue in the afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT and include several practice and debrief sessions. The workshop is limited to 25 people; submit a letter of intent or a $50 deposit to reserve your space.
