Caroline Burnicki named interim University controller

Caroline Burnicki, senior director for payroll and tax compliance, will serve as interim University controller beginning July 1. In addition to continuing to oversee payroll and tax compliance, Burnicki will assume oversight of financial reporting and accounting operations as well as the Office of Research Accounting and Costing Standards. Burnicki, who has worked at the University since 2015, brings relevant technical accounting expertise and experience to this interim role. Prior to joining Rochester’s staff, she worked for 16 years in PwC’s National Higher Education and Health Services Practice.

Red Wings tickets for vaccine volunteers

The Rochester Victory Alliance/Center for Vaccine Research​ is making 200 tickets available to its COVID-19 and HIV vaccine study participants for the Rochester Red Wings Pride Night game on Wednesday, July 7. The tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis; up to two tickets per participant. Find the flagged table near the ticket booth the night of the game starting at 5:30 p.m. The first pitch is thrown at 7:30 p.m. Call (585) 602-0030 or email volunteer@rochestervictoryalliance.org for more information, and learn more about vaccine research and how to volunteer for future studies online.

Go Green: Students collaborate with Utilities and Energy Management on University-wide projects

Collaborations between students and Utilities and Energy Management are providing real-world experiences to students and demonstrating how their academic studies can apply directly to the sustainability of the University. Flags will be lowered for Joshua Sullivan

University flags will be lowered Tuesday, July 6, for Joshua Sullivan, an intern in the Pharmacy Department, who died on May 23. Sullivan joined the University staff in 2019.

Change to supported browsers for MyPath

Effective July 1, Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge Legacy browsers will no longer be supported by the MyPath application. Both browsers should still work; however, Cornerstone (MyPath) will no longer provide support and compatibility testing of those two browsers. As an alternative, consider using Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge (released January 2020) when accessing MyPath. Contact the University IT Help Desk at (585) 275-2000 or the Med Center ISD Help Desk at (585) 275-3200 with questions.

Virtual workshop series: How to Commute by Bike

Thinking about commuting by bike and wondering how to get started? The Department of Transportation and Parking Management offers a three-part virtual workshop series, “How to Commute by Bike.” The series takes place on July 6, 13, and 20, and covers equipment, safety on the road, and bike maintenance. All classes are held from noon to 1 p.m. EDT with time for questions at the end. Registration is required for each class. The series repeats in August.
