Red Wings tickets for vaccine volunteers

Tickets are available to the Rochester Red Wings Pride Night game on Wednesday, July 7, for current and former vaccine volunteers with Rochester Victory Alliance. The Alliance will be tabled near the ticket booth at Frontier Field starting at 5:30 p.m. EDT the night of the game. There are 200 tickets available, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Call (585) 602-0030 or email volunteer@rochestervictoryalliance.org for more information.

Save the date for the School of Medicine and Dentistry opening convocation ceremony

The opening convocation ceremony for the School of Medicine and Dentistry will take place Monday, September 20, in the Class of ’62 Auditorium (Medical Center) at 4 p.m. Awards for medical and graduate student achievement; postdoctoral achievement; resident humanism in medicine teaching; faculty teaching, mentoring, and diversity; and named professorships will be presented. ‘Lunch and Listen’ program for Medical Center staff and clinical workers features violin and guitar duo

The next “Lunch and Listen” concert from Eastman Performing Arts Medicine and the Office of Patient Experience takes place today, Tuesday, July 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT. Medical Center staff and clinical workers can join via Zoom and call in to make requests. This week’s concert features violinist Letitia Jap ’19E (DMA) and guitarist Kenneth Kam, a current doctor of musical arts student at the Eastman School of Music. Both are Eastman Community Music School faculty members.

Earn money with biometric screenings today and tomorrow

Get your annual biometric screening today, Tuesday, July 6, from 1:30 to 4 p.m., or Wednesday, July 7, from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or 1:30 to 4 p.m. in Helen Wood Hall. Walk-ins will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, as space allows. Sign in to complete your online health survey and biometric screening with Well-U to earn $125.

Talk: ‘Advancing Human Rights in the United States’

The latest virtual talk in the Breaking the Bubble series is “In the Spirit of Mandela: Advancing Human Rights in the United States” on Monday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Local activist Jalil Muntaqim will discuss building international solidarity with progressives across the country and why that is important. The talk is cosponsored by the Office of Residential Life and the Rotary Club of Rochester Southwest. Learn more and register here.

Workshop series on antiracist clinical care

The Department of Psychiatry’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion, Culture, and Equity will once again be holding its annual brown bag series throughout July and August. This year’s series of virtual talks will focus on antiracist clinical care and will feature speakers every Wednesday between noon and 1 p.m. EDT. On July 21 and August 11, there will be small group discussions dedicated to further work on the topics discussed in the previous weeks. This year’s series is cosponsored by the Departments of Neurology, Pediatrics, Medicine, and the Wilmot Cancer Institute.
