Renewed funding supports continued telepsychiatry care for nursing home residents

Mark Cavanaugh named associate vice president of Environmental Health & Safety
Mark Cavanaugh, director of Environmental Health & Safety, University chief safety officer, and fire marshal, has been named associate vice president of Environmental Health & Safety, effective July 1. Over the past 18 months, Cavanaugh has additionally served as cochair of the River Campus Emergency Operations Center, as well as logistic sector chief for the Finger Lakes Regional Vaccination Hub.
Flags will be lowered for Geraldine Holmes
University flags will be lowered Tuesday, August 3, for Geraldine Holmes, a patient unit secretary in bone marrow transplant nursing, who died on June 27. Holmes joined the University staff in 1969.
No hard evidence exists that the coronavirus vaccines can lead to menstrual cycle irregularities but there are anecdotal reports that some women experience temporary changes after vaccination. Jane van Dis, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, says that after vaccination, an inflammatory response could occur in the lining of the uterus called the endometrium, which could affect menstruation for a short time, similar to other side effects of the vaccines.
Proof of tuition cost, proof of payment, and proof of successful course completion need to be received by the Office of Total Rewards no later than 90 days following course completion in order to to ensure tuition reimbursement. For more information, visit the tuition web page.
