Return to campus updates and requirements for spring 2022
In a message sent yesterday to the University community, University leaders shared important information and campus requirements for restarting the in-person spring semester successfully. Among other critical details, the message highlights the window for returning to campus and room and board credit, new campus face mask policies, COVID booster requirements, pre-arrival COVID testing requirements for residential undergraduate students, new isolation policies for students, faculty, and staff, gathering limits, testing options this semester, and remote work.
A reminder on face masks: they must be worn properly, covering the nose and mouth, indoors on the University’s campuses and properties. Visit the face mask FAQ page for full information.
Frederick Cohen remembered as a ‘force of nature’
Frederick Cohen, a professor of mathematics, is being remembered as an inspiring teacher and a “force of nature” who “breathed and slept mathematics.” University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered Tuesday, February 1, in memory of Cohen, who died on January 16.
“Businesses today need managers who can harness the power of analytics to make data-informed decisions, manage risks and increase efficiencies,” says Sevin Yeltekin, dean of the Simon Business School. “This program will teach managers how best to evaluate investments in analytics, determine which tools and data are most critical, and leverage the results to support company goals and add value to their organization.”

Can the “terrible twos” really be that terrible? Join UR Medicine EAP and Well-U on Wednesday, February 2, at noon EST for the first Working Parents Network meeting of the year. Learn tips and tricks to manage fearfulness, lying, storytelling, and other challenges you might face with children this age. Celebrate Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program inductees
Join the David T. Kearns Center in recognizing and celebrating its newest inductees into the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. Funded through a grant from the US Department of Education, the objective of the McNair Program is to increase the numbers of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented minority undergraduates who pursue PhD degrees and go on to careers in research and teaching at the university level. This virtual celebration will be held Friday, January 28, from 4 to 5 p.m. EST. Register here to attend.
Attend a community forum on student mental health
A series of community forums are being offered to gather ideas and feedback about student mental health and wellness at the University. The information gathered will be used to create change in campus culture and practices related to mental health.
Forums will be held for undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff during the weeks of February 7 and 14. Complete the registration form online or submit your thoughts through the feedback form if you cannot attend. All sessions will be held via Zoom.
